Congratulations Sean!

>> Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Just wanted to say a heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to Sean Salvatin! Way to go Sea-Nee-Boy (sp?)

If you didn't hear, Sean was one of seven, and the only one out of the Solano Deanery, to win the Marello Leadership Award this year. This year is the first year the award has been offered, and we at St. Catherine's and especially CYM should be very proud to know, work and serve with such a great minister, leader, brother, friend, and man of God. We all know that he deserves it, so next time you see him, make sure you congratulate him.

This is the description of the award:

This award recognizes exemplary leadership in ministry by a young adult age 21-29. Nominees must be practicing Catholics, active parish members, and involved as volunteer leaders in either a parish-based ministry or in a lay movement.

For more information:
  • Read the official news release here: [MarelloLeadershipAwardsAnnouncement.pdf]
  • visit the Marello Leadership Award website: [nominateyouth.com]

Sean will be accepting his award this Saturday, June 20th @ the Marello Youth Center at a Mass celebrated by Bishop Emeritus, William K. Weigand. If you are free you should really consider going.

  • Congratulations Graduates!

I don't remember (sigh it was like 8 years ago) but I bet my mom and I had a conversation like this when I graduated High School. Anyone else?

    Anyways, from the Parish Bulletin:

An Invitation to All Parish High School Seniors
    to attend the
    2009 Graduation Eucharistic Celebration
    Father’s Day, Sunday,
    June 21st at 5:30pm
All parish high school seniors, their parents, relatives, guardians
and friends are invited to a Eucharistic Celebration in honor of
their 2009 graduation. The 2009 Father Vincent Lyons Memorial
Scholarship, the Outstanding High School Senior Awards,
the Distinguished Service Awards will be announced. Seniors
are requested to wear their caps and gowns. Please RSVP Gene
Leoncio at 554-0264 by Friday, June 19th.

I believe most if not all of you have already graduated and celebrated, but allow me to say congratulations again, and again invite you to come celebrate with us and the entire parish THIS SUNDAY. Find out who won the particular awards and scholarships, and here a special CYM Baccalaureate Address. Also, I know the bulletin says "High School seniors", but actually the invitation is to ALL GRADUATES who graduated this year including Kindergarten, middle school, college, grad school (CONGRATULATIONS FIONA!) Wear all your regalia. See you there. =)
