150,000+ singing "Here I am, Lord"

>> Monday, February 9, 2009

It's late already, or [early in the morning], and here is one more blog post for y'all before I take a quick nap... hahah... besides I never like going to bed without doing a little bit of a reflection. And since I spent a good deal of the night crawling the internet, it is fitting that my prayer reflection before bed would also come from the internet.

One of the most powerful prayer experiences I ever had was at a rock concert. Albeit, it was a praise and worship rock concert, but a rock concert nonetheless. During World Youth Day in Sidney, Australia, Matt Maher, Darlene Zschech, and Hillsong United joined together for an evening of prayer, testimony and worship [and Jesus Christ present in the Most Holy Eucharist] for Receive the Power Live.

This still gives me chills.

150,000+ people singing humbly together, "Here I Am Lord". The words alone are a beautiful meditation and have played a role in my own faith journey and vocation, but it was veritably powerful to be there with that many people, from different nations, of different ages, all there for the simple, but amazing act of praising our Lord.

The memory remains with me to this day.

Luckily, with the interwebs and youtubes, you all can relive it and repray it with me as well.

Jump to about 3:39 for "Here I Am Lord" or you could just watch the entire vid (I would):

You can also watch the entire concert by viewing their other vids - P&W, Skits, Testimonies, Adoration & Benediction and all.

Be God's, brothers and sisters.

Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

Quote of the Moment

It is one of those nights. Y'kno, when I have a paper I have to do and I am also totally enthralled with the internet, and finding pictures of cymers and fcjers like this, and like this, and like this, and like this, and like this, this, this, this or this scattered across the interwebs. You all are beautiful. =)

Anyways, here is a quote of the moment for y'all - reflect on it:

"Until we are willing to be politically incorrect in order to be biblically correct, we will never convince anyone that our religion is worth living..."

-- Bishop Hermann - ArchDiocese of St. Louis, from "I thought you should know"

On a sidenote, keep an eye out for new/revamped stuff on the website coming soon.
