"Truth is a person..."
>> Monday, April 21, 2008
Dear Friends,
Truth is not an imposition. Nor is it simply a set of rules. It is a discovery of the One who never fails us; the One whom we can always trust. In seeking truth we come to live by belief because ultimately truth is a person: Jesus Christ. That is why authentic freedom is not an opting out. It is an opting in; nothing less than letting go of self and allowing oneself to be drawn into Christ's very being for others.

There is a lot that could be posted or discussed about this past week/weekend. The Pope's visit, Confirmation Retreats, Mass, PCNs, Praise Party, Scholarships fellowship, suffering, joy, discernment, discoveries, prayer, and countless other things... I look forward to those posts/discussions.
For now, though, I must say it is just a beautiful thing to see our Church alive. And that in the hearts of many there is still a burning desire to seek truth - to seek Him.
The amazing paradox - He seeks us.
Be God's Brothers and Sisters.
But for those who can't wait for a little taste of what me and Rence experienced this weekend... Hit the jump.
Don't worry Sean, it didn't mess up the schedule =) This was all actually after the retreat was "over". While we were waiting for Father Leatherby to Finish his last Mass. Trust.
Honestly Sean, words cannot express me and Rence's gratitude for what you did for us. And to try to do so now would not do it justice. We'll talk.
For now, 3 Trivial things I learned this weekend:
1. It snows in Alturas, and Rence likes to only pack shorts. Hah. High-larious.
2. Rence has a serious problem with mispronouncing/mis-choosing words. Medjugorje = Magorium. Donner Party = Doncaster Party.
3. Peanut Buttery Rice Krispy Treats topped with chocolate are me and Rence's new addiction. Edmund... You must learn this recipe. I will order every week day.
