theaznguy's editorial rant on My Super Sweet Sixteen

Now we all have probably seen this show. I know I have. There are only a couple of things that make me mad(people messing with my backpack and HGTV). But watching this show just makes something in me unleash my dark side. Now you might be saying "ummm theaznguy...where you going with this?" That my friend is a good question. Click the link please!!
I like to watch t.v. (or as they say in Japan (テレビ) "Terebi") as a way to relax. I rarely watch MTV at all. But sometimes I change the channel to MTV and it just sohappens that My Super Sweet Sixteen is on. I don't know why...but once I start watching that show...I can't stop watching. It's like a train wreck. You can't just stop watching!
Just watching these teenagers and the way they act is just infuriating!!!
They have all the money in the world that they are selfish!! $5,000 for a necklace!?
$500,000 for a party!?!? I mean come on!!
Also they seem to have no respect for their parents! I watched an episode and the teenager wanted a brand new car....and she got one. But the thing was..the parents gave it on the wrong day. And for the next 5mins was her yelling at her parents and saying that they don't love her. I was just speechless.
Now you might be wondering where I am going with this. You might think that I'm just venting. But no my friends. This all just an elaborate plan to get you to learn about the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Virtues. (gotcha!!)
Now the first Deadly Sins that concerns the teens on MSSS is Greed. Greed is the "selfish desire for or pursuit of money, wealth, power, food, or other possessions." But don't we all have possessions and does that make us greedy? NO it doesn't. But making it your first priority is. These goods are temporal. Why covet them when you are going to have more when your with God?
Now the virtue that deals with Greed is Charity/Generosity. Pretty much it's the idea of giving. You can see that when you go to the Outreach Concert for example, or when you give money to the homeless. One of the best examples of Charity is Blessed (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta. No matter what your sickness is, whether its AIDS or Leprosy, she was willing to give you shelter, a place to sleep, and medical attention. And know the Missionaries of Charity are spread all across the world helping those in need. If only all of us can be like Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.
The second Deadly Sin that concerns those teens on MSSS is Pride. Pride is "an excessive love of one's own excellence." The reason why we know Lucifer as the Devil is because of pride. He was the most intelligent, and powerful of all the angels. But when the angels found out that must bow down to Jesus , Lucifer insisted to use him, but God didn't agree. He then rebelled and the rest is history. Of course this is tradition with a lower case t. But it is a good example. If we only care about ourselves...where is our relationship with God?
Now the virtue that deals with Pride is Humility. "A quality by which a person considering his own defects has a lowly opinion of himself and willingly submits himself to sake." "I am Third" is a perfect example of humility. Put God and then others before you.
Jesus said "Learn of me, because I am meek, and humble your heart: and you shall find rest in your souls."
I hope you have learned something by reading this post. I know I have. If you guys want to I could talk about the other Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Virtues. just leave a comment. peace out!!

That was really amusing how you used MSSS as a way to talk about the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Virtues.
Aha; it bothers me how people act that way too though. Bleh.
Great point. [:

Watching My Super Sweet 16 can give us a glimpse of "the good life." Amidst the demanding divas and epic meltdowns that lead up to insanely over-the-top teenage birthday bashes, we get a look at the posh lives of wealthy families. And while we take that often envious look at how the other half lives, how many of us sit there wishing that these spoiled teens could be slapped with a serious dose of reality?
Wish no more, because they're about to get Exiled! Fed up with their seemingly endless mooching, their parents have had enough of this Sweet 16 set and are ready to send them away to learn the lesson of a lifetime. They've arranged to place their children in remote parts of the world with host families who have never tasted anything close to the high society life.
A few years after tossing the parties that made them stars in their schools and fueled rivalries among the rich kids, you're going to see some of the Sweet 16-ers you loved to hate the most -- Ava, Sierra, Amanda, Bjorn, Marissa, Chelsi, Meleny and Alex -- shipped away from their plush homes and easy lives and Exiled to foreign locations such as the jungles of the Amazon, the tundra of the Arctic Circle, the Andes mountains and remote islands in the South Pacific where they'll have to live like local commoners with none of the amenities of their normally privileged lives.
These coddled kids will find out that their Louis Vuitton luggage won't win them any respect in their new homes. Tired of their behavior, their parents have signed on to send these pampered princesses and princes halfway around the world to live life in someone else's shoes ... and they ain't Manolo Blahniks, baby!
Will any of these daddy's girls and mama's boys be able to handle being Exiled to remote locations, harsh conditions and life without a Sidekick? Will these smackdowns of super sweet proportions send them over the edge? Or will they summon some untapped inner-strength to not only meet the challenges ahead of them, but learn lessons that could change the path their lives may take in the future?
There's only one way to find out! Watch My Super Sweet 16 Presents: Exiled!
HAHAHAHAHAA, :)
